Our Story
New Beginnings Thrift Store was founded in 1985 as a community-driven initiative to provide affordable goods to Crete and Saline County residents while generating sustainable funding for local support programs.
Over four decades, we have grown from a small storefront into a three-floor thrift destination that serves thousands of shoppers, donors, and community members every year. Every dollar spent in our store stays in the community.
Our work extends beyond retail. We provide free household and personal items to families displaced by disasters or fleeing domestic violence, helping restore stability and dignity during the hardest moments of their lives.
Our Impact
For over 40 years, New Beginnings has been a cornerstone of Crete. Here is a snapshot of what that means in practice.
